Jones Motor Group: 1894

Jones Motor Group was established in 1894 making it the oldest trucking company still running in the US. When Jones Motor Group started out, founder and Wales immigrant, John Jones, worked as a local hauler for Spring City, PA. Back then, the company was called Jones Drayage Company. And, yes, this trucking company pre-dates commercial trucks. When Jones was hauling locally, he had a single horse and cart. Many horses and carts later, trucks were invented. By 1912, Jones Drayage Company purchased its first truck and started hauling freight.Today, the company is called Jones Motor Group, as it includes general and special commodities divisions with LTL and truckload trucking services. Located in Limerick, PA, Jones Motor Group provides trucking jobs for flatbed haulers, dry van haulers, oversized loads, and step deck trailers. To get hired at Jones Motor Group, you’ll need to be an owner operator contracted to the carrier.
