What Happened On Interstate 10. This past week on Wednesday 6/15/2022 we were traveling east on Interstate 10 in Florida. A digital sign warned motorists of an accident 26 miles ahead. It also said the right lane would be closed. When we arrived to the scene which was mile marker 111. We noticed a tractor trailer off the road laying on its side. Just ahead on the left side, another tractor trailer laid on its side also.
We tried all week to find out about this accident. Checked the news outlets. We searched the Internet. We combed everything we could and still no answer. Not one word out there about this accident. How odd is that? Not one but two rigs flipped on their sides in the same area and not one report about it?
If you have information about this accident please notify us at Troy@TalkCDL.com. We hope the drivers survived and are doing alright.
Bad times For Owner Operators
You heard that right, Owner operators are in much trouble. For the past two years people have been buying up trucks at high prices, trying to capitalize on the high freight rates. Until the last couple months, many have been making huge amounts of money hauling freight on the spot market. But that is over now and banks are seeing many repos.
We the high price of fuel and the freight rates heading south. Many men and women are doing an about face from being an owner to running as a company driver. Rates have gone from $4 to $5 per mile to just over $2 per mile. With fuel as high as it is $2 per mile is barely surviving.
