Failure to yield causes death in Rockford MI

GRAND RAPIDS, MI — A woman was woman killed in a two-vehicle crash earlier this week on M-57 near Rockford.

Agnes Huizinga, 76, of Grand Rapids, died Tuesday, when her vehicle was struck by a semi-truck.

According to Investigators Huizinga’s 2013 Chevy Traverse was westbound on M-57 when it attempted to make a left turn onto Northland Drive. Police said she failed to yield to an eastbound semi, which struck her vehicle.

The driver of the semi-truck was not injured, police said.

Statistics show that a high percentage of all Tractor Trailer/4 Wheel Vehicle accidents are caused by the driver in the 4 wheeler.
