TRUCKER GETS CAUGHT IN AN FBI STING . A trucker from Tennessee was arrested after he traveled to Georgia to meet what he thought was an under aged child. According to authorities Seth Weidemann used the internet to try to exploit a vulnerable child for sexual gratification.
According to authorities Weidemann began communicating with an undercover agent in January of 2019, thinking he was talking to an 11-year-old girl. Weidemann sent multiple messages trying to meet with the minor for sex. Unbeknownst to him, he was setting himself up for a trap, a sting if you will.
Weidemann at one point was sending explicit messages describing what he wanted to do with the intended minor. Little did he know his disgusting low life massages were being recorded and as the Miranda rights quotes “Anything you say may be used against you in a court of law.” and what you write on the internet is just like saying it. On February 14, 2019, Weidemann traveled to the Atlanta area for a meeting with the child and was immediately arrested by FBI agents lying in wait for him!
Sentencing
Weidemann was sentenced to 17 years in prison, followed by 10 years of supervised release. Officials say Weidemann had been convicted on October 16, 2019, after he pleaded guilty to one count of attempted coercion and enticement of a minor.
