TRUCKERS BECOMING HUMAN TRAFFIC. In a recent article by Freightwaves, they ran a report in a trucker that was lured from a foreign country to work in the USA. Once here the trucker alleges he was forced to work illegal hours, ultimately risking his safety and others not he road. The trucker also stated that he was lured with promises of big paychecks but was only paid a fraction of what he was told he would receive. This type of “human trafficking” is different than the “norm”, being a person is not held against their will but with other tactics. Human beings are held more by threat than a locked room. The drivers that are conned into coming to the United States are held here based on the threat of not knowing the language. They live in their rig and have no where to go if they are terminated from the job. This alone scares a man into complying with their employers.
