Lady Truckers Having Difficulties Breaking Into The Industry
Many female truck drivers have discovered that driving a truck is easy. The hard part is getting a job in the industry. It’s not that carriers don’t want the ladies, it’s the lack of trainers that want to help. Ladies make up less than 5 percent of truck drivers in the country.
Not many men want to train a woman. For reasons that are obvious. Sexual harassment allegations tend to scare most men away from sharing a semi-cab with the opposite sex. Not to mention, most men are married and have a lady of their own at home. The wives also give residence to their husbands spending 24/7 with a strange woman in the truck. It’s just not going to happen.
