Before 2017, if you had a neck in measurement, larger than 17 inches, you were diagnosed to have sleep apnea. Which means you failed your DOT physical and were sent home. You then had to see a doctor and take part in a sleep study. Most if the times, resulting in the use of a CPAP machine for your nightly rest. There were other factors that determined whether you had sleep apnea or not, but it was rough on drivers that were overweight.
